YOUTH AMBASSADORS

Introducing our 2026 Youth Ambassadors

We are proud to introduce our 2026 Youth Ambassadors — a diverse group of young people from across Aotearoa who are passionate about creating change in their communities.

What is the Youth Ambassador Programme?

The Youth Ambassador Programme is a representative, youth-led group made up of a smaller cross-section of rangatahi from across the motu. Ambassadors work alongside the Te Ara Tīrama board and team to help guide the direction, priorities, and kaupapa of our organisation.

Unlike our wider online learning community, the Ambassador Programme is not primarily about completing modules or running individual projects. Instead, it focuses on youth voice, co-design, and shared decision-making.

Youth Ambassadors contribute to:

Shaping the strategic direction of Te Ara Tīrama, co-designing events, campaigns, and national initiatives, providing insight into what matters most to rangatahi today and helping to ensure our work remains relevant, inclusive, and youth-informed

Ambassadors act as a bridge between rangatahi across Aotearoa and organisational decision-making, bringing lived experience, honesty, and diverse perspectives to the table.

Why our Youth Ambassador Programme matters

Young people are experts in their own lives. When rangatahi are supported, trusted, and resourced, they create solutions that are grounded, relevant, and impactful.

Our Youth Ambassadors help ensure that youth voice sits at the centre of everything we do — not as an add-on, but as a foundation.

Interested in becoming an ambassador?

Each year, we welcome new rangatahi into the Youth Ambassador Programme. If you’re a young person with ideas, curiosity, and a desire to make a difference — we’d love to hear from you.

Keep an eye on our social channels for future applications, or get in touch to learn more about the programme.
